Wow, just logged in after about a month I think, and as expected, there were complaints regarding the release of the mod. But I came prepared!
It’s festive season here in India, I am getting lots of holidays next week! It will help me give some more time to this…and compensate for the hours of sleep lost during my recent examinations.
So, this is a pre-final release, just to let you know that we (=me and my brother) are still working on it. This is not expected to be used as a full time replacement; it is just so you could let me know of any bugs, suggestions etc. Therefore all animations have been removed- keeps the download size small. And I finally got MS-RLE compression working! The expected final size is less than 14 MB!
And this is probably the best preview I’ve ever made, considering that there is just one active window.

Changes from V1[in the most compact way they could have been written]
AVI: Slight improvement in the quality of animations, there will be 5 more fps,
New Recycling items, Applying Attributes animations
Animations will now display in 400X40 (till now they have been 394X40) [this is not shown in the preview, since these new ones aren’t complete]
Bitmap: Using 8 bit bmp’s now, no significant loss in quality, but in file size,
Corrected bitmaps 310, 369, now with the shadow kind of effect that Vista displays them
Icons: About 100 changes (in the final release I will give the exact stat )
Dialog: Font size 9, Segoe UI in dialogs that should have it,
Modified run, progress, confirm file replace, delete shortcut, delete file/folder/multiple items, large/long file size/file name dialogs
String Table: Edited most strings, there are about 80 changes there.

Known bugs that arise as a result of the animations being removed: some text might be chopped off, especially near the animation. If this doesn’t happen to you- forget it.

Achievements:
A pre-final version released after 106 days of the preview. The final version has not been released yet.

Oh and I need your help here! Does anybody know the location of Applying Attributes dialog (the one with the animation)? Please let me know!
And this is only for English SP2. Use Replacer to replace the file. Make sure you have “Segoe UI” installed (note that its variants will not do).
I don’t think I can improve this now, maybe your suggestions can help?
